Trade matching

How Trade Source IRE can help

Finding an available tradesperson with the right experience can be one of the hardest parts of an energy-upgrade project. Trade Source IRE helps homeowners, landlords and property professionals send project enquiries to potentially suitable tradesmen across Ireland.

  • Tell us the upgrade, property type, county and preferred timeframe.
  • State that your project is connected to an SEAI grant.
  • Ask for contractors registered for the exact grant measure.
  • Request evidence of current public-liability insurance.
  • Compare written quotations, scope, materials and guarantees.
  • Verify registration directly on the official SEAI contractor register.
Clear and honest matching: Contractors in the Trade Source IRE network are reviewed before joining, but registration and insurance can change. Trade Source IRE does not replace your own credential checks and does not guarantee grant approval.

Helpful answers

Frequently asked questions

What SEAI grants are available for homeowners in Ireland?

SEAI offers supports for measures including insulation, heat pumps, solar PV, solar water heating, heating controls, windows and external doors. Grant values and eligibility depend on the property and the chosen upgrade.

Do I need an SEAI-registered contractor?

For grant-supported individual upgrades, you must use a contractor registered by SEAI for the specific measure. Confirm the contractor's current registration before work starts.

Should I apply before work begins?

Yes. SEAI advises homeowners to have grant approval in place before starting work. Starting or committing to work too early can affect eligibility.

Can Trade Source IRE connect me with suitable tradesmen?

Trade Source IRE can route your project enquiry to potentially suitable tradesmen in its network, subject to trade, location and availability. State clearly that the job is SEAI grant-related so the relevant registration and insurance requirements can be checked.

Are all Trade Source IRE contractors automatically SEAI registered?

No. SEAI registration applies to specific companies and upgrade categories. Homeowners should verify registration on the official SEAI register and request current insurance evidence before appointing any contractor.

Can I use a One Stop Shop for several upgrades?

Yes. An SEAI-registered One Stop Shop can manage a complete home energy upgrade and normally deduct approved grants from the cost upfront.
